Question about Lyman 45

I got my Lyman 45 in the mail this morning and set upon cleaning and removing the old lube, a sticky tarry black substance that had been in there a long time. Anyway, got the messy stuff out with the aid of a heat gun and mineral spirits.
To my question: the plunger was bottomed out and when removed looked to me to be upside down. Can anyone instruct me as to the correct orientation?
Thanks;
Gary

Lube piston? Brass skirt wraps around the smaller end of the steel piston and points down.

Thanks Ian, not what I thought, that's why I needed to know the right way to insert it. BTW, that's the way it came out of the tube. I'm in the process of acquiring the ingredients for my first batch of Ben's Red. So far I've a list of items to get from another town (biggest drawback to living in the hustings), probably tomorrow.

Hey Jon, PM Brad and see if he'll let you copy/paste your tutorial here, maybe in the read-only tips/tricks section.

We can easily do that. It would be a great addition.
