I have recently acquired a Remington 760 in 358 Win that was re-bored by JES. When I took it to the range to sight it in with cast bullets the first round out of the magazine hung. The nose of the cast bullet hit the sharp edge of the chamber and stopped. Every other round out of the magazine loads as it is supposed to.
I guess the easy fix is to only load 3 rounds in the mag. It must have something to do with spring pressure putting a different angle on the first round out of the mag. I would like to chamfer the barrel just a little to prevent the problem.
I am thinking of removing the barrel and placing a "small" radius on the face of the barrel on the to where the bullet makes contact. Would this be an acceptable fix?
Thanks, Malcolm
