Ruger made Marlins

I have both blued and stainless firearms, even a few nickel-plated handguns. I am pretty obliging about finish and aesthetics, a pre-requisite for owning and shooting Glocks. Some things, though, I cannot abide. Picatinny rails on lever guns; glow-worm sights on just about anything; over-accessorized firearms of any kind, esp. when said accessories are battery-powered.

Went to work as a stock boy for lite fixture company in 55-56? Markup for fixtures ran 4 -5 times our cost. Most were US produced. Nothing changed now but inflated $.

I fully expect Ruger will do it right. Not cheap, but RIGHT! I have been fortunate to talk to Ruger's Chief Engineer. Great guy/VERY Sharp! I would BET they will do it justice, AND NOT half-ass it like Rem did! I would buy one (IF I didn't already have one!).

Having said all that, I DO wish they would partner with/use Skinner peeps vs Williams. But, prob a bean counter decision...
I was too obtuse with my point. Both companies have had long-term issues with front sight alignment the past decade of so. I hope for better.

It’s OK Bob, my wife often tells me I am greater than 90°

One thing for sure Ruger better listen carefully to us lever rifle users.
Henry has been building a strong following by listening to buyers. I do enjoy our 41 mag ! Cycles ever cast I have tried through it. Not so with our 41 Mag CCL.

Perhaps one in 460 S&W ........ SS and stripped to the bones is ok by me even . It's not likely I'll spend 1.5k on any rifle .......that would why I have a butchered 1917 in 45 S&W instead of Red Hawk in 454 .

I wouldn't trade the old 3 screw 357 or the Centennial 45 Colts BlackHawk but I don't see me in a Ruger lever gun ....... I guess I have some oddball 1895G already and a JM 1894C . Maybe one day I'll find another 1886 at auction and have enough laying around to buy it .

Make them right and in the right cartridge and I will buy one.

I kinda kick myself for passing on the 1894 CB in 32 H&R in Tulsa a few years back. At the time 1200 sounded like way too much but his fall and JM marked Marlin was 700 or more.

the rumor i'm getting is 357 should be the next go round.
that would mean there will be at least 2 different sizes to choose from.

If we're talking about kicking ones self, right before Winchester stopped making any leverguns, they had 9422's in 22 and 22 mag and 94's in 25-35. I handled all 3, and they were fairly priced for the time. I have to mull things over, I'm not an impulse buyer. Went back 3 weeks later and they were all gone, never to be seen again! Talk about kicking yourself!!!!!

I'd look seriously at a Ruger/Marlin, (Ruglin? Marler?) in 357, 25-20 or 25-35. If they did a 219 Zipper that would really get the juices flowing on lubing up the ol' wallet!

Brett, I own a Winchester 9422 mag. and it is a sweetheart. It is so very accurate with the WW 34gr hp ammo (discontinued) that I won't mention group sizes. I still have 4 or 500 rds of that stuff and wish I had stockpiled many thousand more.
Michigan had a prohibition on centerfire rifles at night even though predator calling/hunting is legal. The 22 mag. was legal. I am not a fan of 22magnum for coyote but it works as long as you don't try to stretch the range much beyond 50 yds. I purchased that rifle new in the late 80's for just that purpose.
I wish I had one in 22LR as well. That little 22 mag is a keeper and not for sale at any price.

Used to be we were tripping over all the 22Mags for sale up here. Now they're seemingly made of unobtainium! Again, kicking myself since we can still get 22 mag ammo but not 22 lr!

When I bought 1894C Marlin in 357 I gave Dad , I had a choice between it and a 94' in 357 . A year later I was kicking myself for not spending the other $40 for the Winchester . I could have nearly doubled my money ........... Seems in the long run it's come out a wash .

I have a 357 Marlin, the second worst shooting lever action I own. Only the Marlin 44 mag is worse, and that is a tough call.

The 45 Colt, 32-20, 45-70, 444, and 30-30 are all great shooters.

The 357 has a bad bore from what I can see.

i traded off the 94 in 45 colt i had [still had the hang tag on it] for a pre-64 32 winchester in about 20% outside condition.
i still think i come out ahead on the deal.
i kept the 44 and swage 430 jacketed bullets for it [wish i could do 431] but i got no real complaints about it other than it click clacks like a ford 300-6 that's 2 quarts low on oil.

HUmmm. I ran my '96 F150 with the 300 I-6 for 180,000 and 76,000 pulling a 24 ft. 5th wheel. But I kept up the maintenance for heavy duty services. It was an excellent pick up truck.

Wouldn’t worth a darn on gas mileage though was it? Well let me say this. It might not have mattered much because it probably got 9 loaded as well as empty! Everyone I know that had them they got 9-10 miles to the gallon.
