Rulers and ebay

Ok, I don't get this. What it is with some sellers on ebay that they deem it necessary to place a ruler/tape measure next to the item?
I already know the size of a mold, a die set, a H&I sizer, lock n load bushing, mold handles, etc., etc. Maybe if they would spend a bit more time providing a better description of the item they wouldn't need a ruler. Maybe it's a measure of how much they actually know about the item(s)

Perhaps it is a psychological selling tactic: "Crikey mate! Look at size of that one! I just have buy it, bloody hell, it's a good 4"!

It may be habit. They may simply include a scale in most of their photos.
It may be ignorance about the item they are selling.
In any event, I don't object to extra information, even if it's unnecessary information.

You may know know... But comon sence in the general public is too costly a commodity so most have none...

Example. @ McDonalds the coffee cup comes with a HOT WARNING.

We can all thank the lady who stuck a cup between her legs and drove off fat, dumb and happy. Something caused the lid to pop off and.............. the re$t is hi$tory. IIRC something similar has surfaced in recent weeks.

you order the wrong thing on someplace like etsy and your wife ends up with doll clothes or a 32 oz. tube of tooth paste.

This only became such a big deal when McDonalds sent a passle of high-paid lawyers into to fight an old lady over $87.

The greater stupidity was on McD's part. The Jury decided punitive damages and punitive damages are suppose to hurt. It had to be a big number to hurt McD's so to the general public, as presented by the idiotic media, looked like a travesty.

Maybe the old lady was dumb for dumping hot coffee in her lap, but McDonld's was even dumber for bothering to fight over $87.

That's been a while ago. People have gotten exponentially stupider since and especially in the past three years. It's getting downright scary.

At large, whereabouts unknown.
It appears to be time to complain again about phrases like "vintage", "antique" & "rare".

Vintage= It looks old and I know nothing about it.
Rare= I know nothing about it, but I've never seen one before so it must be rare and extremely valuable.

My particular favorite is "rare", "antique", "vintage" vented Ideal 358495 single cavity wadcutter moulds that start out at $100.00 or more.
Average street price is perhaps $35.00.

Actually I like some form of measurement reference in photos. What I like even more is to see items on top of graph paper of known dimensions.

I like them selling something they do not know of they price it low sometimes and in the WRONG category.
