The more I use this 4 cavity, .45 cal. SAECO # 130 that I had Erik install his " Insert HP system " on , the more I like it.

THANKS ERIK for a great job done on this mold !
I want to shoot this one in my 9.5" Super RedHawk in 45 Colt cases.

The solids weigh 200 grs.

Thanks,
Ben

It doesn't take long to end up with a pile of perfect HP's . Should you decide that you want some solids, you've still got that option with this mold :

Any plans on hunting with that big Ruger?

Those should shoot very well. You need a 1911 to feed them to

That is a very neat hollow point system. I believe if i ever want another hollow point mould, this is probably the way i would have it done.

That bullet should make for some very comfortalble to "shoot all day, every day" loads for your redhawk.

Looks like he did some beautiful work on that mould. Are the HP pins adjustable for depth?

No, they are " fixed ".
Notice the red arrows in the photo below .
You can see the two pins that permanently hold the HP pins in place.

You definitely have the gun to go from mild to wild in 45 Colt. My Blackhawks shoot 260-280 grain Keith's on top of 20 grains of IMR 4227 very well. Easy shooting.

You will give out before the gun does.

I think a nice 250-300 gr bullet at 900-1000 fps will handle any needs quite nicely. I shoot a 300 at 900 in my Ruger BH with no trouble. That beast will make it feel like a Light load.

I wasn't sure how the deisgn worked Ben. I was just thinking, that if the HP pins were threaded on the bottom, and had a slot where the rods go through them, you could make the HP cavity deeper but not shollower. By turning the pin out 180 at a time the pins would be adjustable for depth. Looks like the pins are plenty deep now. Does the conversion to solid point just require removing the two E-clips and inserting a replacement set of pins already on bases?

I've never talked to Eric about that possibility.
My mould is a 4 cav. SAECO. the 2 inside cavities have the HP insert bar.
The two remaining cavities remain solids.
