Still VERY early with this one.
I've got MANY more powders, different bullet styles, different sizing diameters, etc.

However, I think I'm off to a pretty good start.

The rifle shot the SAECO # 301 , at .310" dia. and the SAECO # 315 at .3095" pretty well.

I did my testing at 50 yards today, I'll move on out to 100 yards next time I'm at the range.

Dan,

This is a smooth shooting piece of machinery ! :):):)
I'll take your suggestion and run with it.
Many thanks,

Ben,
Sweet! Looks like you got yourself a fine shooter. That 2400 is hard to beat in any of my rifles although I am about to try some 5744 in my 358 Win.

Nice work, Ben.

You might have to work hard to find loads that rifle won't shoot well. It's a nice one.

Your load is much faster than what you usually shoot.
It shows my level of reloading. But that would be one of my designated loads for that rifle/bullet's

Kevin,

Yes, you're correct.
Particularly with my plain base loads.
Much slower.
I'd shot these loads a few years ago in a heavy barrel , 308 Win. with success , so I thought I'd try those same loads again yesterday.

Still a lot of testing to do................

Thanks Ian,

Many more bullet moulds, propellants, etc. to try yet.
I guess that is the fun part of all of this.

@ 17grs of 2400 in the 308 is gonna be pretty tough to beat.
I'm closer to 18 in mine and if I settle everything in it is usually pretty dang close to my best load.
close but takes about 1/3rd the time to put together, so by default it become the majority of my shooting fodder.
