Shooting The 1909 Argentine With Jacketed

Don't know how many of you remember the famous "guru" on the "other" forum saying you couldn't get any of the old military rifles shooting jacketed less then an inch with just using a scope on it, but I was testing my 1909 with Hornady's 174 grain boat tail spitzers. I tried RL15, IMR 4064, and A4350. Cut to the chase she shoots a 1/2 inch five shot group at 100 yards. The other two aren't far behind it. So I reckon that blows that myth away. BTW the barrel on my 1909 is excellent with a .311 groove. The tightest one I've ever seen. I have an el cheapo Walmart Tasco 3x9 on it LOL.

I've got a neighbor that can make a garand do the same thing with the stock sights regular enough to call it good to go lol.
He was told that wasn't possible too, but someone evidentally forgot to tell the garand that.
And yes, at about 80 years old, he's still got the eyes to do it with.

There is a reason many of us to do frequent that web site. That is one of the major ones, pronouncements with no facts or data.
