Smart phones now smart shoes . . .

I take a lot of guff about my flip-phone from my students, my colleagues, my boss,.... My kids know better and my wife is even more adamant about keeping her flip-phone than I.

I also get a lot of flack over being forgetful, especially from students. My standard reply is that "I'm not too old to do stuff - I'm just old enough to know that I can get some unwitting young person to do it instead."

If you don't mind, Rick, I'm posting this on my old-fashioned cork bulletin board, with two real stick-pins, in my lab. My students seem to relish getting their butts kicked by an "old guy" anyway, so they'll appreciate this old-guy wisdom.

I'm not old, by the way. It's just that young(er) people seem to have increasingly lower standards and expectations every generation, so now I'm "old" even though I'm not really old. They call me a lot of things I can't live up to.

At large, whereabouts unknown.
It's sort of like Brads signature line, but instead it would read "how is it that do you know that?", with a response of "how is it that you do not know that?"
