OK, I'll go ahead and fess up; I love Gilligan's Island. Could definitely use more TV shows like it now.

And in case anybody is wondering about where I stand in the "Ginger or Maryann" debate, I am definitely in the Maryann camp, however, the older I get watching it, there was a pretty strong third alternative there.

For anyone who is interested, I read this book written by one of the divers who did the rescue and then salvage work starting December 2nd, 1941. Really interesting stuff and I was so impressed by how clearly and quickly the powers that be thought and planned how to deal with such an utterly chaotic and desperate situation. Very interesting stuff and he went on to fight all across the PAcific and had a distiguished career after the war.

I'm pretty sure you didn't mean to type that date.

Maryanne vs. Ginger: there was never any question. I saw Tina Louise once on Rodeo Drive in front of Cartier Jewelers. Close to Christmas 1980 maybe, which would have put her in her mid 40s; she didn't look a day over 60.
Two of the actresses I crushed on when I was a very young man, were Barbara Eden and Dawn Wells.

Fixed the date.

Dawn Wells was pretty as a picture til the day she died. Tina Louise didn't age so gracefully.

Jaclyn Smith, only actress I ever saw that looked better in the morning with no makeup than she did with it, she simply didn't need it. 78 years old now and could pass for 49. Also, one of the sweetest, nicest people you could meet.

Loretta Swit, aged worse than anyone I've seen. Hideous today.

I was just in Freer, Tx a couple of weeks ago, it hasn't changed much from that photo. I hadn't been there since 1995 when I left the valley for what I had hoped would be the last time, but two of us got called to go pull one of our 2.5 million dollar cameras from under the wing of a fighter jet back to the home office through an immigration checkpoint because FedEx couldn't seem to get its crate to Harlingen on schedule. Sorry, no photos allowed of that little excursion.

I still have a Mitchell camera body that is 12/65 format (12 perf high/65mm wide film frame) and set up for dual film gate, dual film magazines (in other words 3D imaging) aerial reconnaissance camera.

OOPs: have to edit: 12 perfs wide, 65mm high frame. In other words, 65mm film turned on edge, with 12 perf wide frame. As a frame (no pun intended) of reference; IMAX is 16/65, 65mm high image X 16 perforations wide. The other 5 MMs that comprise 70mm is not image, but sound track.
