Temptation

Cabelas here in town has a Marlin 1894 CL in 25-20 for 800 bucks. That is one of the few leverguns I would like to have that don’t already reside with me.

I was shocked to see the 1894 CB in 45 Colt with 24” barrel listed for 1099. Mine will never leave my home while I am alive.

You say you always wanted one. And for 800$, you can't go wrong. go buy it, you'll be glad you did.
:)
And of all the rifles I own, my Marlin 1894 25-20 wcf is the funnest one to shot.

I will take a Marlin over a Winchester all day long. Maybe not as a collector but as a shooter I think they are a better rifle.

Sorry JMB

If you think about it, you really have enough leverguns. And 800$ is a lot of money, you could get new curtains for the living room, with some nice, matching pillows for the sofa- and maybe a new bookshelf.

JUST KIDDING!

Of course you should get it. If you don’t, you’ll probably regret it forever. Run, Brad! :)

Know what you mean, Brad, about temptation. That $1000 consignment .45-70 Miroku/Browning 1886 with a fold down front sight has been pestering me for the last month. If it's still there come February I may buy myself a birthday present.
But, then, another temptation is a .223 Rem. bolt action (Ruger American?).

Even if my original '94 Marlin 25-20 wasn't an family heirloom it would be about the last gun to ever leave around here.

especially with the fold down sight.
I gave 1200$ for my 86 about 9-10 years back.
1 complaint,,, they cut the chamber exactly to saami specifications.

That's funny, sir!
I won't forget your wife's logic.

Mmmm. Yeah. If you put it like, "a wife that clears snow off the driveway and keeps th grass mowed" it makes even more sense. Thing is, you gotta learn how to keep a fun-money stash on the side and how to include trips to the gun store with your other chore shopping. Or just buy it for "her". ;)

I’ll bet if Brad said he wanted it, Dawn would give him the green light.

As Ian suggests; "Buy it for her". That's how I got a couple of MY guns.
