Nice shooting, Paul! Doubt I could do as well with irons & much younger eyes.

Even before eye troubles and then middle age I never properly learned to use iron rifle sights but sure admire those who have. There's so much more to it than line them up and squeeze the trigger, as I've learned from people who don't "see" half as well as I do now but can still embarrass me at the range.

I have to use a scope now. It sucks. Used to shoot milsurps out to 1000 yds every weekend early 2000-2010. even a 24" steel plate at that distance is small. But with a spotter it is fairly easy if your spotter can call the wind right. The trick then was how much windage to hold off. Most of the milsurps did not let you adjust for windage unless you use a hammer.

OK GUYS!! Here We Go ..I just Couldn't Let This Ride...as for the Model of 1917 and the P14both are incredibly accurate rifles PROVEN To be more Accurate than the 03 or 03 A3..WHEN USEDWITH THE CORRECT DIAMENTER BULLET..YUP..Both the P 14 and Model of 1817 Have the Same Rifling

The Lee Medford..Bores are cut .30,five Lands and grooves Right.. hand .. cut .055 Deep...Do the math and you should come up With .311 for a cast bullet add .02 or .03 and you are looking for a bullet sized ..312 -.313 MIN...any thing less and accuracy is non existent as for jacketed...Your in a tough spot flat base Min. boa tails don't expand enough to help.... older style open base FMJ are Best None of my 17's would shoot under 1.25" until I went to .13then things improved
