Creeker. That is an absolute beautiful handgun. What a gift. Show us more videos of this fine revolver. What is the story behind it? Totally awesome.
I can't think of a nicer gift. You are a blessed and lucky man.

Thanks Waco. I'll try to do more on this sixgun & tell you a little behind the man who owned it & his son who gifted it.

Thank you. I planned to put a few through the little gun today but it began to rain just as I finished mowing a lot we own. I'm home now & a load of wood is unloaded so it's shower time & the shooting will have to wait till tomorrow.

Very nice indeed. I'm jealous.
My mother sold all of my Dad's guns. Me and my other two brothers wanted to give her time to grieve and a year later, when we brought up the subject, her response was "well, nobody said anything about them, so I sold them. After all, I did inherit them from your father. They were mine to sell."

Yah, he probably had 20 guns. most of which my brothers and I had carried when he first started taking us hunting and as we grew.
I got him into bullet casting and reloading.
A lot of history and sentimental value.
A gun from a lost friend is a value without equal. I'm sure it will never fail to bring back good memories.
I still have great memories from Dad, not so much anymore from Mom.

My Grandpa purchased a M-37 Winchester used for the coal company store at some point in his life. That shotgun was passed to my Dad & then to me. Love that old shotgun.

Was able to fire a few more rounds today. I haven't checked anything yet other than a few screws. I did clean the barrel a little right after receiving the gun.

I just found some magnum brass & will load a few once bullets are made. After selling the bullet business I'm not sure what I have in the way of 44 moulds so for now I'm just shooting some old stuff I had loaded for my 44 Special.

I'm using 2400 powder in 44 Special brass. The load is 15 grains. Not sure how I came upon that load but it works very good in the Special gun. It is a little dirty leaving residue in the barrel probably because pressure isn't high enough for a correct burn. This reminds me of the 45 Colt load that is so accurate using IMR 4227.

Anyway I shot up what ammo I had today so need bullets & some loads.

In the video I should say the gun is hitting to the right, not left. And the last shot missed high, not to the left.

Thanks for the videos Creeker, almost as good as being there!

Got the same grip on a 4" "early" 629..... agree it ain't much to look at but they fit my hand, and really work well when shooting/hunting in the rain.
