I don't have to test mine anymore.
I can get her to go from almost sleeping to screaming incoherently in under 3 seconds.
When I was a kid, I was in charge of keeping our tube radio and tv running. I still have a nice collection of some rare tubes, they were nearly free at the end.You know, the scary part is, I remember those days. When you would take all the tubes to the 7-11 and test them one at a time on the stand alone tv tube tester.
I wish I had kept my portable tester. I even have a few from ILLIAC I.

I love the Nixie tube clocks! I just wish I could afford one of the good kits. Now days the high voltage supply and requirements for low EMF make tubes tough to use. I still have a couple of amps the are tube type, they really do sound better... once they warm up.Those sound cool!
Have any of you ever looked into Nixie tubes? There's a guy in the Czech Republic who has resurrected the manufacture of Nixie tubes and is making some pretty nifty looking clocks. I'd love to have one. I'd also love to have a clock made from IN-18 tubes.
