Hang on to the passenger grab straps. I was going to wax loquaciously about another perfect August day in Wisconsin. As I reviewed the day I realized there would be hybridization between the weather and waht are you doing today.

I will take you on a verbose and circuitous journey that hopefully you will enjoy.

53 at dawn with a bell clear sky, slowly warming to 81 in mid afternoon with scattered cumulus clouds, low humidity, and plenty of sun to initiate some splendid thermals. The air borne creatures responded with gusto to the light flight conditions. Everything from Great Spangled Fritillaries, to Turkey Vultures, Red Tails, and Bald Eagles were soaring with a Summer joy to gladden the heart of us mere Earth bound humans.

Late in the afternoon, I was mowing the rimfire range, and I found my mind wandering as minds are prone to do.

Sue and I had earlier made a run to Joann's Fabrics to get some material for a garden art project we are collaborating on. The closest Joann's is in Lake Delton. Our route to Lake Delton took us through Wisconsin Dells, a City that bills itself as The Waterpark Capitol of the World. I glanced to my right into one of the waterparks that line the main drag of Highway 23 and saw a strip of black fabric that disappeared between the twin globes of a Kardashianesque wine glass platform. Newton's 3rd law was reaffirmed with certainty. When the displayer turned I observed a view of pulchritude that Rally would have had to consign to the discard pile. The amount of wax that must have be used would have easily made two or three sticks of conventional bullet lube. The thought of recycling the contaminated wax and the difficulty involved in straining out the errant fibers gave me pause. Then, in a moment of inspiration, I thought maybe leaving the fibers in the wax would work much like 4 aught steel wool to remove traces of lead left by previous rounds.

A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

chuckle.
just as a note on the above.
dog hair makes a better case filler, than cat hair, when the lint is removed from the dryer trap and used as judiciously as the non earth saving petroleum product.

yeah I tested it, but ummm, well?,,,, ummm,,, I never got around to donating [or thinking bout donating] to the cause.... LOL

Well then I have a life time supply.
Our Rottie deposits that stuff by the pound in this house.
What I have never figured out is how this dog takes 1.5 pounds of food per day and turns it into 2 pounds of poop and a half pound of hair.

My dog evens it out, about a pound of each. I can't figure out how this dog isn't bald.

My last kitten achieved exergy, converting exactly one pound Science Diet dry kitten food into one pound of kitten in seven days. I didn't weigh his poop :) That pound was reversed the next spring when that pound came back out as undercoat poofies.

Two nights ago, I watched the movie "Mr. Church" (2016).
It's kind of a chic flick with no comedy, which is a strange thing for a Eddy Murphy movie.
anyway, I really liked it, heart warming, I highly recommend it.

I finally got to watch Ford vs Ferrari .
I liked Dust to Glory and the World's Fastest Indian , this movie was done in the same way high lighting a glimpse into some of the bizarrety that happens with last minute/rushed/oh it doesn't comply with the new rule pit repairs and the ever present but it doesn't say we can't do that in the rules . Matt Damon player Carroll Shelby pretty well I think in terms of his public persona with an explanation of his shift from every man to the its my event so I kind of have to be here ,it's $50 for a note book , 75 for a picture , 150 for any magazine , 2500 for a glove box and 5k for the hood signature .
I don't remember Ford having a 427 , I was pretty sure there was only a 428&429 in the FE and BB .......

Ford also built a SOHC 427 CI engine on that same block meant to dislodge the Mopar 426 CI Hemis c. 1968, and NASCAR finally said ENOUGH!

Funny, NASCAR banned the J-2 carb set up in Oldsmobile's 371 in 1957 when Chrysler couldn't compete.

I do remember it now , but just a flicker . I was pretty young then . They were doing stuff with the GT 40 in 65-69 that NASCAR didn't really make a regular thing until the 80s I can't imagine that Hemi Bird doing 205 down the straits . But I suppose it's possible , that was the end of the knock the glass out , strip the interior , slap a cage and seat in it stock cars kind of lost interest with the 305 CID and the restrictor plates paired with the contour gauge .

GT40, interestingly, they did experiment with overhead direct gear driven cam engine, performance was OK but the cam gears were so large it wouldn't fit the aerodynamics of the 40. US had just started testing 3 & 4 valve motors. Funny stuff in the F vs F movie was the white hot brake disks. Nope.

There is still stock car racing. Just not in NASCAR. Not a single part on any NASCAR car that you could go to a dealership and buy.

Yakima has had a "stock car" track here since the 1930's. Here a "stock car" has to have an engine block and body of the same manufacturer. But they are built on tube chassis and not anything I think of as streetable hot road car.

MMM! 1969 ZL1 Camaro. They were COPO cars (Corporate Office Production Order), came stock with a boxed set of Hooker headers in the trunk. 500 (430 on the documents, but 500 on the dyno) horse, aluminum block 427.
There were only about 100 that ever made it out to the street, but a total of 200 that came off the line. Last I heard (about 20 years ago) Hank Aaron owned 2. Reggie Jackson owns or owned 1 or 2. 20+ years ago, they were valued at close to $225,000.
