Unbelievable generosity

Sept. 10, 2021 Steve left us. You are missed.
I will have to try the 3.gr of HP 38, I think it was @Dusty Bannister suggested a 2.3 gr of WST load for 38 Spl a couple of years ago, I happen to have a keg of that, works well for a mild load.

I went a long time without bulls-eye.
I didn't start using it until I remembered that using it could lower your blood pressure.

At large, whereabouts unknown.
A reloader/handloader could do far worse than to settle on Bullseye for a primary handgun powder. It's right up there with Unique for uh, uniqueness , especially for low to medium velocity "working" loads.

Bob, I rarely use Unique. Or bullseye.

I am living in the current century powder wise. Well, other than 2400. That one is non negotiable to me.

I'm that way with Unique.
I do have a large stash of Universal that I need to start playing with.
The lock down has me, well, locked down.
Local range is open, but I can't afford to have the wife exposed to the bug!
No other place to shoot that is not 3 hours away.

I have heard old timers talk about loading 38 wadcutters using a 22lr case full of bullseye . I did weigh it out and to my surprise it was about 3 grains. Always love to listen to the old timers. As Richard Pryor said you don't get old by being a fool!

We haven't given up on you. Yet.

WAITAMINNITT!!!!! This from the guy who's addicted to Red Dot? That's from 1932, just like 2400!

Not addicted to it, just happen to have it. Got 8 pounds during “the scare”. The 8 pounder of Promo is from before the scare, it was purchased for 98 bucks or so. Too good a deal to pass up.

I will admit to having a general affinity for Alliant powders. Well, some Hercules too.
The Reloder series are a favorite. Hodgdon is second. Never used many IMR or DuPont powders.

I buy a pound of just about every new handgun powder that comes out. Try them in all the suitable cartridges that I load for.
Still go back to Bullseye, Unique & 2400. I do have/use more Modern powders.
W296 & W231, Titegroup & Clays, Trailboss.
I did drop Red Dot, Herco & 700X. And lots of discontinued powders.

But no BULLSEYE, how do you load .38Spl W/O Bullseye. Isn't that almost Sacrilegious ?

I have never loaded any 3031 either.
I don’t use Bullseye with the wadcutters I don’t shoot.

3031 took me a while to come around to also.
I had burned 20sum pounds of AA-2230 before I got around to trying both 4064 and 3031.
I always avoided the IMR powders because of some of the older data, once I started using it I found I really like how predictable it is.
I mostly avoid hodgdon powders anymore.

Some it for me is that I generally lack any sense of nostalgia.

When I bought all of my Uncles reloading/casting stuff in 1999 after he died I used the powders he had on hand. Redot, Unique, 2400, 4350, 3031, 4895. It worked and I never really played around with too many other powders. Some. But not a lot.
