thank's Ric.

like posted earlier I'd test it against what I got and determine how it reacts, if it is fast then I'd chop my data off sooner and shoot it up.
we don't have to even know the name of a powder to use it.
all we really need is an idea of it's burn rate and how much we can safely get away with using in our particular case.
the second we determine for ourselves no matter what the books say about the canister powder we tend to use anyway.

we couldn't get away with any of the [high velocity for sure] loads we use without being able to think and observe our way through these kinds of problems.
do you really think there is load data out there for a 165gr cast bullet with .0015 worth of engraving on it's 4%tin 6% antimony nose in a 30X57 case that has about 12-15% more capacity than a 308 only in a highly tapered case design???
well there ain't.

Fiver, I have been reloading for 57 years. It would not have been fun if I hadn't pushed the envelope once in a while. I've only broken one gun in all those years, and I shot it for the rest of the box and didn't know it until I cleaned it when I got home.

My main concern is that all of our collective knowledge will evaporate into electrons when we die, unless we write it down on paper it and is published. Ric

Sharing that knowledge adds to the collective in far more than an additive manner. We learn from one another and that knowledge grows exponentially.

I am glad that there are people like Ric, Rick, and Glen who are good at writing and sharing info in the way they do.
People like Ben who are always doing new things and openly sharing the results also add to the collective.

Why do forums like this exist? To share the knowledge and experiences of the members. We each grow with each post and we can never be sure when something we post that seems trivial will spark something in a fellow member.

I'm one gun in also.
it was intentional and I knew it was coming, it still 'learned me good' and scared me enough to make damn sure I thought things through before making that next step.

Serious overthinking.

Sealed can of Unique. Test a few moderate loads. 99.999% it will be just fine.

Good grief.
