I think I'll take a quick video of the inside. Not so sure I like being accused of running a surgical suite! Hmmm, maybe I'll get into illegal plastic surgery! Naw, I'll stick with what I know which aint much! LOL

I built this detached garage in 2019. Slab was poured in December of 2018. It is just for the sole purpose of holding my reloading shop stuff and my 1965 Fairlane Sports Coupe.

I actually overwhelmed myself with all my gun and reloading stuff so it is a lot more cluttered now.

24x24, insulated, drywalled, electrical outlets EVERYWHERE, gigabit wifi - that rack by the man door holds my fiber router and the Plex server my son built. There is now a TV on the wall between the window and the door.

It is a true ManCave!!

Actually, I really like Dimner's setup. It has to be portable so I can set it down out of the way.

one of those window fans with the 2 little fans and the expandable wings on the sides is what I used to run by the pot.
it'll suck the heat right out of the room if you run it too long.
now I pretty much just don't flux, if the oxides build up too much I scoop them off, mash them against the sides of the pot, and save the rest in a metal pail.
I set it right in my smelting pot and reclaim whatever I can get from it out back.

That's because Lamar slept in one morning and completely missed summer.

You have a dream shop of mine. The whole setup and how you went about designing it. I'd use it for woodworking as well as gun stuff.

The thought on my vent hood was exactly as you mention, so I could put it to the side if necessary. Also in the future I'll put a mobile base/stand under it so it doesn't take up workbench space. But for now, I just needed to get back to casting. The itch was too much.

I've upgraded it a bit. I have added a strip light of sorts so it illuminates the whole area and I ran a power strip to the inside of the box because there are too many cords going everywhere.

yeah one is about all it's take... LOL
I didn't even have to put the window unit in last year..... we went 0-fer on 90* days.
but we did get in a good 3.5hr. ground squirrel shoot with the 22's one evening.

The temperatures at which we cast bullets do not create harmful fumes.
But consider the wax, organics, etc. we FLUX with, yup, need some venting. My garage door stays open and side door also so I get cross flow. From all the crud settled on my bench/ceiling I say yes to a hood/vent in a nice inside room.

Not fumes but airborn lead oxide. I tested the inside surfaces of my casting hood with a lead-detecting wipe and got a strong signature.

See there ya going screwing up that bliss again. Next thing ya know you'll be cautioning folks to wear gloves and not cast in shorts.

Ever notice how when a drop of lead falls on your jeans it sticks, but when it lands on a hairy leg it bounces of as soon as that little bit of steam forms in your skin?

At large, whereabouts unknown.
Hmmm. Brads tidied up and organized a bit since my last visit. The bench top used to be pretty full.
