I recently found some references to Veral Smith's book, Jacketed Performance with Cast Bullets but have not had any luck finding a copy. Does any one know where i could get a copy?

Lots of good info in that book. Mine has been combed over hundreds of times.

cast bullets from a man who knows!

I loaned my copy to someone many years ago, by the time I looked for it I couldn't remember who I loaned it to. :(

Holy cow! What is Veral getting for them these days? I think I paid $25 and thought it was high.

Last I looked at his web page posted above in post #2 by Chris it is still $25.

I saw a used copy, I think at Abe Books, for $95 and $14 shipping. Our colleague Veral could use the money and his price seems reasonable. He broke some ground with that book.

With all the work Veral put in designing, redesigning, and refining just about every aspect of cast bullets he does deserve first crack at any potential profits. And the man gives information and advice so freely...

Yep, learned a lot from that book. And Veral makes some very nice molds, too. My copy of his H&G 68 is just a joy to
cast with, although I have a couple old original H&Gs that look rough on the outside but sure spew out beautiful castings, too.
I have a 150 7mm that shoots real well, and several of his signature designs that do well too, although I haven't
found them to be the magic accuracy machines that some have. Probably operator error somewhere along the
line.

I think his unique sprue plate design is top notch, too.

My copies dates to his "guest of the government" age. The word went out that his wife was short on money and needed help, so many, many people ordered bullet lube and books from her, and sent what extra they could. She got past the tough times okay. My copies were $20.00 ea. (I think) back then, I ordered two of them, and I ordered as much LBT Blue as I could afford as well. Judy's such a dear lady.
