Wanted to Buy 457 molds

I'm looking for a older Lyman mold number 457130,and others looking to Range test a old sharps 45-70, and set it up for mid range work

True, but you have to go back at least ten if not 15 years to have a chance at finding one that has a cavity which is round, cut to full depth, lined up, and casts large enough.

My concern would be " Does it cast large enough ? "
My experiences with Lyman has been " Hit and Miss ".
Their 457 moulds more often than not will cast around .457", which for me won't work.

Yes Sir Lyman reissued the 457130 a few years ago,but I'd like to find a older Ideal/Lyman if possible.even single cavity will work.


Ben this is a little weight button bullet,great for reduced gallery loads
It actually about the same weight as a.457RB which will be included in my range testing, How is your book coming alone??

I've read a lot of your post the last three or four years,I think you have a lot more information in your head that you should put on paper for the next generation of shooters and Handloads
