Win 630

Anyone use this? I have a unopened 1lb can of this from the FIL's stash. I see in a bunch of my older books it is used in 357. And I just happen to be loading some right now. Looks like it is the same speed as bluedot. I loaded some 135gr mp359-135 rnfp I use in my 9mm. I cast about 200 of them last night. This AM I coated and sized them. Then loaded them with 11.5grs for a middle of the road load.

I know whats going to happen. It will be the most accurate load I have ever shot. And I will be on the search for this powder from now on.

I would love to hear what has been your experience with this powder.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
I think I also have a can unopened in stock, along with some 452AA or something like that. In the late 70's Win had a mess of powders that seemed to last about a year and then disappear.

No 630 but I do have some 680 for the 218 Bee and I think I was planning on using it in the 44 mag. Not sure on that one. Been a long time. Was perfectly happy with 2400 for the 44 so never tried 680 in the 44.
Mine has been on the shelf for years and now that I have recently acquired a 218 and a Hornet I will blow the dust off the cans and put it to use.
As Bret says those Winchester powders came and went pretty fast.

I used it for .357Magand .38-44 loads back when it was available. I had a bit more leading with it then W296. Used My stock up years ago. Good for jacketed loads.

I have some 630. I tried it once in a reduced load in 30-06. That was a mistake...not disastrous, but had shotgun like patterns.
