The world got crazy in 2020 but that wasn't the first time the world got crazy and it DAMN SURE will not be the last.

Political cycles (anyone that has been around more than a few years and paying attention knows the drill), fear, panic, social unrest, new gun owners, old gun owners, general economic upheaval, blah, blah, blah……

There’s nothing new here. We’ve all seen it before. It is not worse this time, it is not different this time, it’s just how it’s playing out this time.

I have distinct memories of talking to “gun people” in the fall of 2008 and you would have thought the world was coming to an end. The same held true in 1992, and the fall of 2016. And those were just some of the 4-year presidential election cycles. Toss in some domestic and world events, a media that loves to excite its readers/viewers with short memories – and those fear/panic cycles can occur at any time.
Still shooting primers i bought in the 90's after the assault weapon ban.

Maybe start a new thread dedicated to reporting results from the Servicios y Aventuras (Argentine primers) SPP.
I plan on buying some in near future.
I bought 5k of them last year. I checked and I'm down to 2k in boxes. 1k are still in loaded ammo, but I've shot 2k of them without issue..... On my Dillon 650 do they load as nice as Federal or CCI.... not quite as nice. Do I remember hating them, NO, not at all.
I placed a large order to Powder Valley a few weeks ago and now I placed a bigger order to NormaUSA at their better price.

My 5K of SP Argentine primers arrived just now, 6 days later. I opted for FedEx delivery, which was a $20 bump.

Why? Did you opt for expedited shipping? My orders from Norma always arrive via FedEx with free shipping................wish they used UPS, instead.

I ordered 4K from, https://normausa.com/product/blowout/primers-b/small-pistol-primers-made-in-argentina/ on Monday last. They arrived Fedex Ground on Friday about noon.
Total for here in MN was about $215.00 with free shipping on orders over $150.00 & Free hazmat as well.

I still have a reasonable amount of primers & powders that I accumulated back some years ago ( pre 2020) when the prices were about $25-28 per K for all kinds of primers, & powders were also still in the "reasonable" realm of prices. Though recently I thought I would try these Argentinian Serv. Adven. primers, as there being closer to the "reasonable" amount to spend at $49.00 w/ no shipping/handling/hazmat.

I have a VN Vet friend of mine who wanted some of these Argentinian ones as well, but told me after I ordered, so I am passing on 2k to him to try & likely will reorder in a while after I try them out first. IF they are still available & reasonable.

The closest place I can get USA made primers that I know of right now, that are closer to "reasonably priced", is at a sporting goods store about 45 miles one-way for $69.99/k no shipping/hazmat. Add in time & fuel/etc. & while still worth while if I needed some more , I will give these Argentinian ones a try first.

Why not, what the heck?

My report on servisco adventuras primer.

Small primer Blaser 45 acp USA brass shot in a stock Glock 21 100% fires.
seated fine smooth no problems but was USA made brass too.

On to wheel gun
Used in range pickup 38 special USA and oddball brass.
USA Brass seated fine Oddball had lot of crunchy stick / slip seating feel some of this brass has tight pockets.
and was probably NOT fully seated.

USA Brass in DA in a target modified light 2.5 Lb trigger Smith model 15 about 80% fired
SA about 90% fired.

Oddball brass DA in a target modified light 2.5 Lb trigger Smith model 15 about 50-60% fired
SA about 70% fired.

Seems like if brass is well chamfered or swagged in primer pocket and pushed in hard maybe get 90%+? fire.

Funny glock was 100% means to me even stock striker hits harder than my modified Smith.

SO for me a NO go unless you want to prep all your brass or shoot only USA made brass with a strong hammer spring.

To be fair, this sounds more like a casing problem than a primer problem.

100% functionality in one set of casings seems to support the theory that the PRIMERS are good.

The failures in mixed brass with iffy consistency of seating doesn’t condemn the primers.

I lean that way as well. I am MONDO FUSSY about my brass, though.

Is that really a two and a half pound double-action you're talking about?

Not throwing stones - just curious. I'm not a competitor, so I really don't know how light a DA pull can be. I DO know that the guys I know who have guns they use in competitions us only Federal primers because their light DAs won't set anything else off.

This is why I ask. I keep the springs in my DAs stiff enough to light small RIFLE primers, but the guys with the highly-tuned Smiths can only use Federals.

2.5 lb SA I do not know what the DA is. I think the maybe fine BUT primer pockets must be chamfered and or reamed and primers set to bottom to be about perfect. BUT I did not get 100% even in SA with my light target smiths so If I use them then back to stock stings etc. Where Winchester runs 100% NOW. I have friends that run them and get 100% in the PCC game.
