38 Marlin Ballard Long : Ideal 37583 (Lyman 375083). My mold using 40-1 drops the RFN at 152 grains. Using 2F Goex in a shortened 38-55 case this bullet is deadly on any size raccoon or groundhog through the shoulders, chest or neck /chest area. This Marlin / Ballard (#7xxx) was re-stamped 38-50 many years ago .
Have also used this 37583 in a Dan Wesson 375 Supermag 8 inch as a plinker and hunting bullet for critters Yote size and smaller. Cast of WW and moved along at 1000 fps it gives consistent 2 inch groups at 50 yards with a good steady rest.

475 Linebaugh : Lee 475 400 PB This is my all purpose cast bullet. From 850 fps to 1150 fps will shoot clover leafs at 25 yards. At 50 yards sitting will group 3 inches unless I have the wiggles. 2400 and Unique have worked very well for me. Have a BFR which has a longer cylinder and the 1-15 twist that make the BFR a bit more versatile with heavy cast at slower speeds.

Sorry about the lack of clarity is my "TC" descriptor, and many thanks for the clarifications.

9MM: Did I miss it or did someone mention the Lee 120TC conventional design. I've gone through about 30k of these in 9mm so far and have not one bad thing to say. Works fine in 38 Super as well.
38/357: Hard to go wrong with Lee 358158FN design. Heavier than needed for most of my shooting but soooo accurate in my guns/loads. For light bullets, the Lee 125 RF shoots great as well.

For 45 rifle i would say the 1873 405gr HB wich Lee does a fair job replicating.
It has shot fine in anything from a 45LC handgun (modified) to any mid-late 1800's Danish RB and umpteen replica rifles in 45-70.
It just sizes down or bumps up and has worked 100% in every rifle i have ever tried it in.

As for the 45 LC i made a new HB pin on my lathe and made a substitute for a Webley Hb bullet.

I'm a little late, but here goes:

Lyman 311672, 311644, and 311299, if you can find good ones. My 311299 was pretty good, but found it a new home after picking up a 4 cavity NOE version. Lee C309-150-F (old single cavity) is a favorite, C312-155-2R is THE bullet for the 300BLK, but I wish that it cast no larger than .312". CTL-312-160-2R is excellent in every 30-06 and 308 that I've tried it in, but mine casts right at .312". It flies better in the wind than does the Saeco #315. The NOE 309-169 Elco has been excellent in the '06, but I haven't run it through the 308s. Its shank is too long for 300BLK. NOE's incarnation of the 311008 in GC form is pretty good for a lightweight 30cal plinker.

I've not needed to search much for 375s. The 375449 is my levergun choice. The 300gr Saeco, and 335gr Lyman worked very well in singleshot 38-55s over blackpowder.

This is a fun thread that I somehow missed the first time around...7.5 years ago :D LOL.
.
I got nothing to add, except a couple "must have" 41 cal pistol molds.
Ranch Dog TLC411-255RF
Saeco 411 (230gr swc)
.
a "factory" 41 WC mold doesn't really exist, but Accurate cut me a copy of a Button Nose 44 WC and made it .412 and 196gr

Jon, Lyman made a .41 Wadcutter at one time, the 41026, about 200 grains. I had one back about 1995 or so that I used in the 657 I owned. I would imagine you are better off with the Accurate mold ;) The .41 is sure a fine cartridge.

Good topic!!

I have said this many times. I think anyone would be well suited with almost any RCBS mold in any given caliber.

More then a few are best shooters for me.

Many I like more but its as much personal as preform ance. In molds its Accurate and MP for me.

Yeah, Ray, I know you love that one. When I was playing with the Roberts, it shot both the RCBS 25-120-SP and the 25-100-FN pretty good for me. For light work and plinking, the 257312HP would really shoot. Should have been kicked for letting that gun go. Just put a Sako extractor on it too. Us old folks lose it sometimes./beagle

I have a yet to be shot 257 R, and the 257312 FP that came with it. Figured I'd never shoot cast in the rifle and prob part with the mold. From your post, sounds like that might not be a great idea. Any load dope on that mold/bullet for the 257 R? Thanx
