I'm I'm experimenting with my new smartphone and using the site off of it. So far like a keyboard better.

I prefer a keyboard too but they are damn tough to carry when out of the house.
Smartphone isn’t for ease but rather for convenience.

Just watch out when using "talk to text".
Mine comes up with some of the craziest stuff. I guess it can't handle my Texas accent!

And that is why I quit using talk to text. Maybe it don't like Utah accent either. I'm surprised I wasn't arrested for some of the thing it would print to text.

Congrats to Keith on the building going up.

Just dropped off some heads at the machine shop, got to clean out a van, & if done soon enough might swing by an indoor range yet today.

Well, talk to text is the biggest selling point for me on the phone. My wife says my texts on the ol flip phone looked like someone threw a handfull of scrabble letters out and sent it as a text! I simply can't see these days and I can't get used to wearing glasses. Plus, the screen on the smart phone is large enough so I can read whats there and the ringer volume can be heard by an old deaf guy over lawn mowers, tractors, etc. Happened to find a near perfect vertical belt holster for it at a local drug store. Had a belt clip and a horse knocked it loose into a pile of horse crap right off the bat. So it gets threaded onto the belt next to the leatherman. Working pretty good so far. Tried doing online stuff and that's just not for me. Yeah, for finding an address or a part # I guess it's okay, but it's certainly not my idea of ideal.

Got some stuff done today, steak and mashed spuds for supper, nice day.

On my iPhone if I use the browser to find a business and it has a phone number listed I can tap the number and it asks if I want to diall it. Keeps from having to enter number by hand, maybe make error. I like that feature.

he has an 8' tall chain link fence all the way around his place.
where, or more how far away the trampoline come from is anyone's guess, I know he don't need one, his kids have moved out.
just to get back there it would have had, to have had, some pretty good height on it.

We got 4.5" Monday , 2" Wednesday at home .
The place I'm working 20 miles NNE got rain every day this week . Probably closer to 8" total . 2 days coming home was 45 mph wipers on high with occasional steering skate .

No standing water more than a hour or two thankfully .
Thursday morning I washed and wiped a slug off the windshield .......no clue how it got there .

what is going on with our weather?
it was/is supposed to be cold tonight [cold like low 20's cold] but,,, just for an hour or so before sunrise.
no big deal right?

somehow the weather guys forgot to mention the snow.
you guy's remember that stuff?
white,... kind of falls from the sky like rain,, only slower,, and sits on the ground when it gets there.
I was picking broccoli and lettuce for dinner just a couple of hours ago.

I doubt the grouse hunting will be worth even attempting this fall, the deer numbers should plummet this year [again] too.
I don't even know what to think.

2 AM Friday lightning takes out the electric substation, generator kicks in and performed admirably running the whole house, HVAC and all. Then at 8 AM the cable goes down, lost phone, TV and internet. Went to bed at 10 last night with the generator humming along and still no cable. Got up this morning and never know anything happened, generator off, cable back up. Don't know exactly how long the generator ran, depends on what time the power came back on but anywhere from 20 to 26 hours.
I think this next week I'll have the propane tank topped off and see how much the generator used during that time.

Was actually kinda like the good ole days, had power and a radio so I turned on the local oldies station and kind of enjoyed it. Off & on thunderstorms brought about 5 inches of rain in 24 hours.

Update: Email alert from the power company said power was restored at 3:30 this morning so the generator ran for 25.5 hours. I'll top off the propane tank so I can see how much that took. Could be I don't really want to know.

But John your not running an HVAC, by far the biggest power user I have. Temps were in the 70's yesterday and I would have just turned it off except the humidity was in the upper 80 percent range.

Our weather has moderated in terms of rain. We are now in a more traditional hot, humid cycle. Some storms but not rain every day.

But my 4000 square foot house has two refrigerators and a freezer plus a 90 gallon electric water heater...............which is the largest consumer of electricity. That's why I had a 40 gallon gas water heater put in as a backup..................able to take the electric one off line and fire up the gas, if there is an extended power outage. In seven years, I haven't had to use that option. Never even had water in it.

We received 4 1/2" of rain, in less than 24 hours. Thankfully, for the next ten days, there is only a 40% chance of rain, on Wednesday.

70F and 80% humidity would be considered a darn nice day here.

More sunshine! Love it! Going to try to get some stuff down or at least move further with the projects today.

Beautiful sunny and in the high 60's here today. Going to take the wife North about an hour and go rock hounding on the Santiam river. Lots of agate, jasper, and petrified wood to be found.
