Let's see, getting out my Jethro Bodine pencil and licking it.
Naught plus naught = naught. Yep, I thought so. You can
double his salary, Brad and still be OK. :)

Bill, the beaver market isn't great now as it is for nice prime pelts, in fact it's pretty terrible. Out of season beaver would just be more worthless hides in the system. Prime beaver is a gorgeous fur.

Foggy here with a blue sky above this AM. Here's hoping for a decent day.

Large Cell phone part II
I was talking with a friend yesterday, he has a phone same size as mine with a 'thin' case. For whatever reason, I opted for the industrial duty case and screen protector...it's kind of like the case on a Fluke Multi-meter.
ANYWAY, I removed the case this morning...the phone is gonna go bareback for a while...and see if I can learn to like this thing?
This J7 was a factory refurbished unit for only $36 (through Tracfone's website). So it's no big deal if I break it, or just replace it with a smaller one, which I was ready to do on tuesday.

Today is Dairy Day in Glencoe. Free food (ice cream, cheese, milk shakes) at most all the businesses in town.
Just what I need :embarrassed:

Supposed to be decent through the weekend. Thought I was was going to have the day to myself yesterday till the school called- pinkeye. Sigh. Youngest daughter is an absolute sponge for any ailment that passes through the area. Put her to work cleaning the house. She's good at that. but that shot most of half the day with the dr's appt and waiting for the Rx. Did get most of the lawns mowed. They were getting rank. The old Deere 300 seems to get hot and vapor lock. Going to have to look at it. Modified a rear rack for the boys mini-bike after supper. He's happy. Still searching for a side x side UTV, those things re crazy expensive, but really think it'd be a mistake to buy the TSC version made by Coleman. Same basic money, no where near the quality of availability of parts and service as a brand name.

Should be a very busy weekend.

Was a power substation fire at 2 AM last night, radio talking heads say power could be out for 24 hours. Was some pretty good thunderstorms last night and though they didn't say substation could have been hit by lightning. Power was out for the entire town but is back on in town now, not here. Three years or so ago I put in the standby generator and this is the first time it's had to prove it's worth. Been running on it for 4 1/2 hours now.

You guys stay safe with all that water. Was going to take couple GKs to Houston to see USS Texas, San Jacinto monument and their cousins. Also found there is a Tyndale bible in Spring. Decide the rain was too much, then turns out, not much after Wed. But saw on TV last nite, France awarded Legion of Honor to D-Day vets ON the USS Texas Thurs. We'd never have gotten near it. Would be fun to be there during the awards though.

turns out not going fishing was a wise decision.
we had severe thunderstorms popping up all over the place yesterday,
60+ mph sustained winds and hail the size of silver dollars.
the storms themselves were moving along at about 45 mph, so not much chance of outrunning one in my 20 mph boat.
we didn't get the hail here at the house but we did get a bunch of the wind and a lot of rain last night.
glad I spent the time and money gluing and screwing in the panels on the green house now.

my little brother down in Utah just got himself a new/used trampoline delivered right to his back yard, didn't even have to pay shipping.
the house across from him lost it's roof and windows, and then the insides got pummeled by the hail.

We are having some hot TX style weather (90 and humid).
My project for today will be to go through my garden shed and garage to find all the stuff I don't need that is taking up space and throw those items at the end of the driveway, and hope they disappear. I think I'll be able to do that in this heat? Shovels, Forks, pick axes, type of stuff...and some old scrap steel pieces left over from my 2004 woodsplitter project, and I know I have a few old large diameter hemp ropes that I've been tripping over for many years, they are still serviceable, but would also add something to a primitives display...So I think someone will want them?

Oh, my poppies are late this year, they usually bloom on Memorial day and are long done by now.

Would "finders keepers" apply?
How would you send it back?
