Well, craptastic.......the Bee will not "be". Estate sales are so flaky, once family vultures start gathering. Not the first such occurrence IME, and likely not the last. Greedheads suck.

On to other ventures and projects.

The 221 might be available--the 222 Rem is pending sale. The family seems to be doing weird things with these guns, the vibe is off-putting.

once you got it in hand there ain't much they can do about it.

I went through the same thing tracking down a 219 zipper and some swaging equipment a few years back.
I was looking at a gun cabinet in a second hand store and found a letter from a gun smith to the original owner.
I then went to the shops in town looking for the rifle and finally tracked it down, but went through the same it's for sale it ain't for sale deal with the few they had brought into the shop.

i finally just made a I don't really want it offer on the box of equipment and they accepted it like 2 weeks later.
the rifles disappeared in the meantime.
I guess they thought they could get more for them off the internet.

I hate that dance routine. This could easily turn into a multi-chapter whinefest over dealing with indecisive hairballs and avaricious drain clogs, but I have better things to do with the time. Like, picking up that new S&W 642 today at 4:06 P.M. PDT (but who's watching the clock?) Off to the toy store I go, Buckshot should be here momentarily.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
I hate trying to make deals. Some people just don't seem to get that if they want to sell, I'm willing to buy. Baffles me why they offer something for sale and then don't even attempt to make the sale! And I'm talking item "X" for $______ and I go and extend the asking price and they STILL won't take it! The old "So whatta ya gotta have for it?" works with most people. But I've had them make the deal and then back out. It's nuts. Part of why I like auctions, a deal is a deal.
