I've never used a filler in anything. Just never talked to enough folks who had and who I had faith in, to get me to try it. I think at some point in the foreseeable future I'll be trying some dacron fill in the 45-70 when I use 2400 or Unique.
Try it both ways and see for yourself. Read my article here on buffers and fillers, along with any other writ you can get your hands on to make sure you know what you're doing with the stuff before hand, and after some range time you'll likely file it under "good to know" and go back to loading without it. Unless you have a real need for it (like shooting at odd angles in the field) you can usually work around having to use it. The horror stories you hear all have a traceable cause, and that cause is known and preventable.
The key to using dacron fillers, is to uses it sparingly, and fluff it up well.
It should be fluffy enough to JUST fill from the top of the powder to the
base of the bullet. Do not compress!
