44 years together

Well said, Rich. Words always seem lacking to me too, but it's the best we can do when there's nothing else we CAN do. Not having personally experienced the loss of a spouse of decades I don't claim to truly understand the depth of another's loss, but we all bleed when we are cut and grief is as universal as joy. Congratulations to everyone on their anniversaries, especially to those going on as one now, "it is the way of all flesh". 44 years is 4X what my wife and I just celebrated. I'll be 81 when we celebrate 44, if we are both so fortunate as to still be here as many of you have been.

First go-round shouldn't've happened, but it did produce my son and I'm very proud of him.
My wife and I celebrated our 35th this last May.

Uncle Grinch, Paul, Brad,
Sorry for your loss, I can't hardly imagine. Isn't every day you hear of marriages lasting that long, especially today, with divorce rates over 50%. They both must have been wonderful women.

Like others, I don't really know what to say, and know that I can't ease your grief, but I am saddened for your loss.

Congratulations to John G for his milestone. I wish you and your lovely, many more!
