9mm Parabellum

I have a Ruger P-89X in the safe, a 9mm fat-grip with a swap barrel and recoil spring in 30 Luger. It gets shot a lot more in 30 Luger than in 9mm, and it uses the 9mm recoil spring when I run Lyman #311419 (a 92 grain flatnose GC design) to 1400 FPS. #311419 stays accurate to 1700 FPS in the CZ-52 as well.

Hornady once sold a couple bullets meant for the 30 Luger--93 grain J-words in FMJ and RNSP forms. Dunno about their status these days.

ETA--Hornady's online site shows a .309" 90 grain XTP and .312" 85 and 100 grain J-words as well. As an aside, they still show their 60 grain soft-point flat-nose for the 25/20 WCF too.

I swerved things away from the 9mm just a bit......sorry about that.
Few years ago I saw one of those Barrels on Gunbroker and purchased it. Has the spring with it too. Figured I'd have one of those pistols some day and would shoot .30 out of it. I have a Browning Hi Power and .30 Luger and it shoots very well. Also have a pair of Commercial 1920's era Lugers in .30 and the current Fiocchi Ball or HP will not cycle those consistently but works great in the Browning. I'll need to load some hotter cartridges for the Lugers.
