I just spent my last Christmas $$

Another awesome accurate mold in custom dims coming!

I slimmed the nose another .002 from .350 and expanded the base to .359.

Target is my 358 Norma Mag & 35 Whelen. Probably run some thru the 358 just cause.

Anyone shooting these 300g slugs in there 35's?

I assuming 5-6 weeks but its a guess. Not in a rush.

I’m shooting a 310 grs GC flat- nosed bore rider from CBE in my Whelens. The nose was a bit under-size in the first place. Which made room for PC!
I run the nose in the NOE .349 nose sizer before coating, and a .351 after. I size the driving bands .360. My favourite load is 45 grs Vihta N150. This combo is very accurate in both my Whelens. This load also taught me why generous eye- relief is a good thing on a big bore rifle.

Load development in my 1:14 ROT Whelens with 310grs PC/ GC took me through a grand total of 3 loads with one powder; 45- 47grs Vihtavuori N150. I landed on 45grs. This is an extruded single base powder with a listed burning speed a little faster than imr 4350, and a little slower than imr4320.

I thought this powder might be a bit slow, but wanted to start there because I had no data and needed to «probe» the then-new cartridge from a safe angle. 45 grs gave excellent, repatable accuracy at about 2050 fps, which I considered optimal velocity for meplat design/alloy/ intended terminal performance. Thus, load development ended.

Love that mold @CWLONGSHOT !!! I have been impressed with every mold I’ve gotten from Tom, also yea, that shipping is a bit crazy haha, there have been two separate times that I’ve woke up at 3am for work and found Accurate molds on my porch, they seem to appear randomly, from thin air

They have ravaged my account Tom. Deleted many many videos and scolded me twice. One more and I will be banned.
Its a personal attack as the first punishment they deleted 8/9 videos. Then less then three weeks later. (After a ban for 7 days) they was offended by a two year old video and struck me a second time for 14 day banishment then proceeded to take down dozens of videos.

Rumble for now is much free (er) and the rainbow hair jelly heads havent yet invaded.

So full casting abd reloading videos will be posted to Rumble and teasers to uTube.

I sized all these that I cast other day and made up dummies for 358W, 35 Whelen & 358 NM. Everyone cycled perfectly!!!

Damn shame what YT is doing to y’all, destroying a community. I love that bullet and mold, a big 35 is definitely on my wishlist!!

Looking for some heavy bullet data.

Woodleigh makes a 310 and NOE has a 310 cast and of coarse Barnes Original was 300.

Any links to data would be most helpful. I do find some for RL15 but that powder has been unobtanium and I have about 1/4 #.

I was positive I had 358009 data but cannot find the manual it was in! (I know its only a 280g )

you might be able to slightly modify some heavy bullet 9.3X64 data if it's easier to find.
just remember the bore expansion ratio will be @ 10% different.

I don’t have access to any official, published data. Woodleigh have a reloading manual of the paper kind.
There is, however, lots of interesting information on 35cal.com from a fellow .35 cal enthusiast. If you scroll down the page in the link, you’ll find information from Woodleigh (e-mail from the tech department) with data for the 310 grs bullet in the Whelen and Norma magnum. The suggested 57grs Re15 in the Whelen sounds a bit much to me.....

I have been searching and looking for data for these heavy bullets. Specifically for the 35 Whelen and the 358 Norman magnum. I did find out if are the 358 Winchester using 310 grain woodleigh. I found some data for reloader 15 and a 310 Woodleigh. But I only have about a quarter pound of this powder. I found some Varget loads but I only have a pound of that powder.

Now twice I found references of 3031 being used with a 300 grain barnes, in the 35 Whelen. Using quick loads I found that 46 gr it's about a maximum load I started at 37 grains mostly because it gave me a velocity near what I am wanting. Which is about 1800 ft./s.

So I loaded a ladder starting with 36.5 stopping @ 38gr with this 310g cast. QL says thats 1800-1965 fps from my 25.5" bbl. We will see.

OOH, I also checked twist rates!! My Whelen is 1:13.5 (Shillen BbL) My Norma is 1:12 JES Rebore and my 358 Win is 1:14 Grice Ruger American.

Also, the UTube deleted my account this AM. 15 years invested and 1K videos gone. Casting videos are so horrid they trigger these woke folks.

Pretty messed up Brian. It's one of the reasons we don't get to excided about trying to put out new videos. You never know what is going to get you shut down. Sorry man....

I see Gun Blue 490 a nice informative channel is embarking on a series of casting videos now. I commented to him to beware. He said its within guidlines. I replied "AS YOU Interpret them"

Wish him best. I wont pull others down to promote myself. But they selectively in force there own interpretation of there Community Standards.
