I guess we learned a more common and cleaned up version, cuz it was the first one in a google search ;)

In electronics school, I learned it as "Bad Boys Rape Our Young Girls, But Violet Gives Willingly"
Black Brown Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Violet Grey White (electronic resistor color code sequence)

Man!! That was a long time ago!!!!
Yep, that's the one I was taught, and it was a very long time ago.

Same as I learned during tech school in the USAF in 1977.

Hi,
I drilled a hole in the back of the box and put round hole crimps on both ground wires from the cords and then screwed them both together with a screw.

That way not only is the Pot grounded but also the Aluminum Box to help me avoid a shock, touching it ,if there is a problem.

I see no neutral on the SSR, unless you are talking about the Neg Pin?
OOPs quoted wrong post. Sorry.

There is no 120V neutral on the SSR. Only hot wires. Terminals 1 and 2 have a contact between them. When low voltage on 3 and 4 is energized contact closes between 1 and 2 sending power to plugin.

Hi,
Yes, just like a 4 pin Relay for your Car...

2 Pins for the Load and 2 Pins for Control.

I guess that's why they call it a Relay!

Admittedly, I tried to live without this thing, before my Oven Build, but now happy I have it!

Yep!

Except instead of using an electromagnet to physically close contacts, you have "magic rocks" becoming conductive once you've "goosed" it with enough control voltage.

VERY handy for oven applications and VERY much more accurate with a narrower control band.

I built this one several years ago from parts I gathered from eBay and Amazon. I now use a Lyman Pro25, but I left this one connected to my LEE 4-20 for ladle casting.

Hi,
Looks good!

About the same as mine and all you need.

With the TC Plug, you can, just have a separate sensor for each need!
