Any thoughts on Chest Holsters?

Yeats ago I decided to have a Custom Holster made. I chose Double Diamond in Alaska. They made my a custom embossed Pilot Holster for my Glock 20. I have used it every hunting season I handgun hunted and its been great.

This spring my pop and I bought a brace of Ruger Birds head S7 revolvers and he bought us each a DD Pilot rig for these guns.

I especially like there extra strap legnth making there use OUTSIDE heavy clothing. PLUS I can farther let it out and sling the pistol ALMOST AS IF A CROSS DRAW.

I have wanted a KYDEX chest holster for use with various Glock9/40 caliber guns. I found a maker that didnt want a arm and both legs...

I ordered a holster to fit a G24 with a reflex site. This way EVERYTHING I have can be used. The holster wont cover complete slide of the pistol be would a G17/22.

Should have it tomorrow or Friday.

Question CW; with the Diamond D Chest rig can you change the setup to other holsters? Or is the Chest rig a one off?

The only one I ever looked at was one of those flex band fabric styles that secure the piece where ever you place it! seemed cool ...Even wearing a tee shirt you can bend over slightly and pull it from the neck of the tee is a split second ( of course that is what the models demonstrating it did!
May have taken them a hundred takes but sure looked good!
Have no Idea what the brand was called! Sure worked & looked good On the video

Tgey are not "designed" as a swappable. But attached with Chicago screws. So I guess ya could swap but its not really a universal style harness.

Well, that pretty much swings the "buy" arrow to Simply Rugged, theirs does. The rig plus a holster for my commander and a holster for my SP 101 is $200. Thanks for the info.

I've only used them for Big Hunting Guns. Scoped; Contenders, SBH and Casull.
I'd rather have carried a Garand w/o a sling.
Think I have an idea of what those big-lunged females go though every day.

I have an Uncle Mikes nylon chest holster for my GP100.
It`s not for concealed carry, just an easy way to carry will packing in the woods.
I like to hunt mushrooms and I don`t want a sidearm dangling from my hip.
You can cover it in your coat during rain or snow.
It is considered a concealed weapon in Oregon when it is under your coat.

I have a Uncle Mikes and a now discontinued nylon Bianchi. I prefer the Bianchi. It's a little stiffer, easier to re-holster. It's also more adjustable.

Have 2 nylon chest holsters I've used for carrying the 1911 around here on the homestead. They got put away when I discovered additional holsterwear at the forward end of the slide in just 2 months of use.

Both of the guns I plan to carry with the "Chesty Puller" are SS. Doubt I'll see much wear but I can see where a "brillo pad" nylon holster could do some damage to a blued steel gun.

I picked up a Simply Rugged chest rig for a 4" model 29 and will order a holster for my RUger Super Redhawk 480 with a 5.5" barrel. Wanted the chest rigs for when I'm on the water and using a skiff to and from shore. Sitting on a inflatable tube of a skiff with the revolver hanging out of a hip holster, even tired in was uncomfortable. Guns don't float.

Holster wear has never concerned me.
It just shows a gun was well used.
The 2 Colts I used for Cowboy Shooting have a lot of Holster wear. So does the old Blackhawk that I carried for so many miles.

To me holster wear gives a Revolver Character.

However I bought My last Holster gun in Stainless, just for the corrosion resistance. And a El Paso
G. I. chest rig. But that was 25yrs ago.

Looks like a nice rig. Is that Kydex going to dig into you when you bend over?
