Considering that the Johnson's company has discontinued the liquid wax that I used in my initial batches of BLL, I realized that many bullet casters wanted to try BLL but were unable to purchase the discontinued Johnson's liquid wax, that started me on a search for a suitable alternative to the discontinued Johnson's Liquid wax . I'm fairly certain that I've found it.
I've been using this combination for over 1 year with results that rival the early Johnson's / X-Lox BLL.
If there is a difference in the " down range performance "
I'm unable to determine any difference.
Here it is :
The Lundmark liquid wax ( 32 oz. ) is $9.99 from Ace Hardware ( I had to order it online and have it shipped ( for free ) to my local Ace Store ).
The Alox is Lar's White label. Both containers are 32 oz.
This will make enough lube for a " bazillion " cast bullets.
Ben
Here is the formula to use when mixing Lundmark Liquid wax and X-Lox .
When it is mixed properly, it will pour like Coke out of a bottle.
I've also heard of people mixing it 1/3 - 1/3 - 1/3 with very good results.
I want mine to flow like water, so I probably use more mineral spirits than some would use.
