When you get ready to let it go give me a pm. I have a very tight savage, it may work ok for me, considering I currently am just messing around with low node.I originally purchased the 311284U because I wanted a 200 plus grain “long range” bullet. I will most likely sell it. I have now picked up a two cavity Lyman 311290. This will be my next experiment.
I had wanted to attend one of the CBA matches that they have here in Washington State. My thinking was that I needed a long and heavyweight bullet for one of these competitions. But with our current health crisis this has been put on the back burner. Maybe next year!

Ian,See why I don't like bore-rideing designs? Actually, fussing with the two-diameter fit and the velocity limitations are just two of them. Spindrift gave you a good suggestion with the Ed Harris bullet, MP Molds has a better one called a .30 Silhoutte.
Brad,I’m not Ian, thankfully(?), bit have pushed the 30 sil Into the 2700 fps range and got 2” or so groups at 100. Pressures were well into the jacketed realm. Alloy was heat treated to 18-20 BHn, cast from mildly boosted range scrap. Think of 2.5-3% Sn and maybe .5-1% Sn.
That bullet will do as well at max velocities in a 308 or 30-06 as any cast bullet I can think of.
My bad. Saw Ian's post and thought we had moved on the the xcb.Waco, I think he is talking about the 30 sil, not the 30 xcb bullet.
The 30 xcb bullet also has shown an ability to go fast with good accuracy.
