I bought my wife ( a few years ago on gun broker) a beautiful Model 32-1 Smith & Wesson Terrier in 38S&W caliber 2"barrel (a real night stand queen). I'm very impressed at how well she can shoot it double action at 10 yards! Just as well as I can shoot it single action! I'm never worried when that is with her for CC. Her carry load is a bit hot but I'm not worried since I have tested it extensivly. She does like a mild practice load however.
