Interesting RB. Think I also have tried Unique in every thing I load for except
for 375 H&H to the best of my knowledge. Has worked out ok I guess, and
on some it is my pet powder behind specific bullets for loads generating up to
maybe 1450-1500 fps. For loads about that I tend to go to 2400, on up to the
1800 or more level. Powders are sort of like women! There are some men who
prefer blonds, some brunets, some red hair, some gray. To each his own I
guess.

I usually don't use anything faster than 2400 in my rifle loads.
I ain't a huge fan of unique but it does seem to have some applications where nothing else quite works the same.
and in those applications it is the best choice.

if another shortage like the last go round hit's again i'll be more than happy I have a bunch of it on hand.
I have used both unique and 2400 in some rifle applications under jacketed bullets with good results.
the 8 mauser with the 200gr speer hot core bullet on top of unique is a super nice near duplicate to the original 30-30 loading only with a ton more punch.

The only jacketed bullets I have ever fired over 2400 has been in Hornet and
K Hornet. Sort of duplicates the original factory loadings.
