cat. I have been looking all over the area looking at cats. I really wanted a new cat that somewhat looked like Haley that just passed. But Siamese looking cats are just not that common. But going to at least 12 different places(Humane Societies) I just did not connect with any of the cats. Most seemed to be feral and would not let you touch them.

But I came across a place about 175 miles from me that had two cats that when I seen them I have to go meet them. They just spoke to me. If that makes sense?

So Friday morning we are taking a drive to go see them. Never know I might get both if things feel right. So I will get some pics up with what I end up with. This is the first time in 46 years that I have not had a cat of my own. The cat and dog we have now are the old ladies. They don't want much to do with me except at feeding time.

Tomme, we are fortunate here in Richland County Wisconsin, to have Ocooch Mountain Humane Society, the phone number is (608)-475-1885. My wife volunteers there twice a month. I know they used to have an adoption mileage restriction of 80 miles, but, they have a new Director and are at maximum kitty occupancy and expecting a Spring surge in kitten drop offs. Richland Center, where the facility is located is perhaps 55 miles East of Marquette, Iowa, which is across a bridge from Prairie Du Chien, WI.
Sue told me to tell you to call, if the other possible adoption does not work out. It can't hurt. An she said if you are looking for a real affectionate lover boy, ask about "Stanley." Stanley won't leave her alone to do her work. He started out timid but now is an attention junky.
I've gone with her when she volunteers a couple times, just to pet cats and help get them used to people. The facility is remarkable. Clean, with a huge air handling system, lots of volunteers, and donors. They are privately self funded. Ocooch Mountain is the role model for a cat shelter. The cats live in what are effectively, suites, not cages. Clean, well lit, with more than ample litter boxes cleaned daily. Well fed and have lots of 'Fur-ni-ture" to play in and around, and to provide little shelters for the more reticent cats. A Deputy Sheriff is one volunteer and builds the furniture.

Good show Tomme!!

We just have one dog. She was normal dog. Extreamly food driven. We got her "used" my buddys oldest had to get rid of her with wife and new baby. She liked my wife best but was affectionate toward me. My father lives with me since My heart attack. Well, since my wifes passing I cannot get out of Ellie's site sans into the basement and even then she comes to check on me every hour or so. When I leave her she is over the moon happy Im back.

When my wife had the hospital bed I was hell keeping her off it!! She would sleep in living room watching over "mommie".

Animals are amazing. Glad your getting another!

Sassy is a Lynx-point that was born in a litter at my friend's farm in 2019.
They've had outdoor cats/kittens there for decades, but never had one born
with a Siamese look. all of Sassy's other litter-mates were grey, and grey-white like Mom.
Now I've had indoor cats all my adult life and I'm so glad My friend let me adopt Sassy, I've
never had a cat like this. She has the typical traits of a Lynx-point (listed on the interwebs somewhere) and what
a fun and entertaining cat..playful and loving...She likes games, and seems to make everything
into a game.

Made the mistake the other day of going to Pet Smart Store. Picked up some food but went the long ways to the check out and walked past the Cat Rescue area! Wouldn't you know they had 3 , black ,gray and white , traditional Tabbies & All reminded me of Our Timmy who passed last year! Tabbies are special cats...Very unique Quarks ...... So are Siamese But they are harder to find! Both are great talkers and snugglers.

Can't have just one cat, have to have at least two or none at all.
My son's family moved in with me while he's deployed. Four cats again. This one is Mittens, he's alaid back loveable goofy type and is also a polydactyl (extra toes). My son calls him "the stoner cat".

Just got back! Ended up just getting the one cat I wanted. No pics right now she is hiding under the bed. She is not fond of the dog or the male cat. She is just growling at the male cat, but she went after the dog.

So i'm going to let her come out on her own. It was a long drive today. Almost 350 miles out and back. But I had to take a detour on the way back and stopped at Brownells. Picked up a case of sr primers and some cleaning stuff for the new 22 when ever it gets here.

Tomme, I'm sorry, but I HATE cats!

Damned things have some kind of a network which tells the ones the worst down on their luck where I live.

THAT is how I get MY cays and they've been... OK, awesome pains in the ass and wonderful companions.

That cat hit the lottery, coming to YOUR house, Tomme.

What a beautiful little tux-ette! If you haven't had tuxedos before, you're in for a treat. They are more aristocratic than tabbies and have very unique personalities. My wife's departed "goose-goose" would play fetch and talk back when scolded, also would stump off muttering under her breath when scolded from across the room. Right now we have an aging rescue tux (by "rescue" I mean he showed up hungry and friendly and wouldn't leave) who had been declawed on the front or he would be an outdoor cat, his thing is being absolutely fascinated by running water and has adopted our daughter as "his" human. I could go on. Glad you got a new friend, I usually don't worry too much about finding another when one of my fur babies dies, the good ones seem to find their way back to me in a different body sooner or later so I don't rush it.
