Its been mentioned about selling it. Depending on what program was used to write the program, you can not sell it. It has to be be free and the source code available.
I learned that working on my program. I am using guizero and giozero (coding for dummies) . So I can never sell it it and my code has to be publicly available.
That's why majority of Linux applications are free. The creator made sure legally it stayed that way.
