Heat Treating 50/50

Just wonder if you checked & sized within an hour after heat treating if that would matter all than much ( softening the drive bands)
Doesn't it take a few days to achieve hardness?

JW i heat treat then size...but i make sure i do it somewhere in a 12 hr. period before they get hard.
They still acheive 27 bhn in 3 to 5 days after sizing.
This is with ww alloy ht'd @465* for i hr. and dunked in water.

My 50/50 alloy, with 1% Sn added, heat treats to about 23-24 BHN after waiting for 5 days to test it. That's heating in a convection oven for an hour at 465*-470*F and quickly quenching in cold water with ice added to a 5 gallon bucket full.
