I keep a 1911 by the bed with a good flashlight. Inside the house, I will not miss with that gun, way too many
rounds in practice and competition, and not too happy about the retention issues with long guns in close quarters
in the dark.
Also keep a Rem Model 10 (Browning Auto 5 clone) loaded with #1 buck for "in the yard" work, set to pattern at 12" (16
pellets of .30 cal) at 20 yds. There is an AR with Blitzking 55gr loads and a red dot sight conveniently located, too.
More available, .22 rifles, etc. as may be necessary for a particular situation from a rabid coon to a coyote to a two legged
predator.
