I have not had this one too long.

You must be shooting these for accuracy instead of just plinking. I really like the look and will be getting some SAECO #315's. BTW, great photos Ben.

If you want a rifle to shoot with cast a 30-30 lever action is pretty hard to beat.

And accuracy is good for plinking too. Can't have the clays and pop cans getting away from us.

I mentioned the accuracy thing cause I noticed you had turned the neck of the brass. I have a Marlin 30-30 I bought new in 1976 and I still haven't shot a box of 20 through her yet. Time to get a new mold and give it a workout.

Gary,

Neck turned brass in my Handi 30-30 has worked very well.
For me, it just seemed logical to neck turn for my Win. 94 also.

I had 4 rounds in a ragged hole ( see target below ) and then I shot that crazy 5th round. I don't guess you've ever done anything like that have you ?

Actually I haven't done that. Eyesight is very poor and my time on the range very limited. There, I've listed a couple of excuses for my bad marksmanship, but I'm still trying.:):)

I hear you about eyes. Always wore glasses, but my corrected vision was really
good. Now, I have too many years in my eyes.:(

But, with effort, after new lenses put in, the right diameter peep, and the right kind
of front sight, I am doing OK. :)

Qualified for my Swiss Feldsheissen medal for 2017 with the K31 again this spring, really tickled
to still be able to do it, but it isn't as easy as it used to be.

I've needed corrective lenses since a young teen, but always had pretty good vision. As I got into my 40s I needed bifocals, so seeing handgun sights got difficult. I still enjoy shooting iron sights on rifles, tang or receiver peep, but not barrel sights. I recently ordered a Gehmann iris to clip onto my glasses, and hope that it helps.

Ben, both the Winchester and Handi are very nice rifles and real good shooters. I'm a bit green over the Winchester, I should own one. I remember the Centennial year and this is our 150th.

I noticed that the loaded rounds are very different. I understand the limits that the lever imposes on OAL. The Handi loads are very long. Does it have a throated chamber?

I must add that the the 315 is a very attractive loaded round for a Winchester. It shouldn't matter but the look of a loaded round seems important to me.
