Weird barrel hum throwing of your groove or maybe some invisible ding .

Between 2&4:00 is where the Armalite action is supposed to eject . If it's not dinging cases your golden as long as it holds open on the hold open not the mag follower .

When you shortened the barrel you removed part of the gas dwell time and ultimately lowered the the port peak pressure and or volume .

It's nice when a simple adjustment to the mechanics fixes the flow you've wrestled with so long .

I was more excited it was functioning then I was for new Wilson Combat 300! Its still over 12" dwell as my buddies 9" bore scope I borrowed to check gas hole align was too short... But he gave me a clamp on gas block that has a oval wide hole. Making align far easier. Plus its large with a pic on top allowing a level to be used knowing its square.
