Any chance you could get a skid steer or loader in to move the snow away from your foundation. Maybe time to bring in some dirt around the foundation? First thing we do here, because even as the snow is melting, the frozen dirt along the foundation is still banked away from the foundation and still diverts the water away. Did my place again three years ago, live on the top of a hill with 28' of sand below me.
We got 7" of snow today, and they are calling for highs of 46 tomorrow. It's going to be a mess here shortly if that 46 makes it. A few small fast rivers and creeks opened up in spots with the warm weather last week. We still have plenty of snow on the ground and the snow today was wet and heavy. The smaller creeks and rivers will be out of their banks with no place for it to go.

no snow around the foundation.
the closest snow is 6' away, I know because I move it myself.
the snow falls off my metal roof as soon as it gets 2" deep and I shovel by the house, the boy does the driveway.
if I let him shovel around the house I don't have any grass left.

Tough one Fiver.Problem with foundations,basements,terraces,yada,yada.........or so it seems? Is getting everyone on the same page.I was responsible for hist pres work on an 1800 Episcopal church(T.J. slept here, haha) to include, dang near Army Corps of Engineer drain system. These are brick foundations and even the corp is a little out of their league when preserving them.Yada,yada.Anyway.....I go back over there 5 or so years later and the maroons have bushes planted all around the foundation after dropping 1/4 million+ on fixing it.

So yes it can be fixed but dang, try getting everyone to agree and work together is challenging.Good luck,in any case. BW

that series of quakes we had seems to have changed things underground.
my buddy's pasture about a mile away and about 30' down in the old river bed has 2 [new] free flowing springs he didn't have before, and doesn't want now.

the one thing we have around here is water, every single canyon has a stream coming out of it and they all run down to the Bear river.
we have hot springs, mineral pools, a sulpher spring, even a geyser in the middle of town.
all of our parks but one are named 'something' springs park because they have water flowing from them, and that one has a trout fishing pond fed by a small spring.

even the spot I deer hunt I chose because it has a spring up in the dry mountains.
it pops out rolls down the hill about 300 yds. and then disappears.

well to be fair there was like 230 sumthin of them.
then nothing for a while then a pretty good one hit all on it's lonesome.
my mom and dad felt it almost 200 miles away and called me before it was even done.
it was a 5.6 or so and lasted about 15-20 seconds.

We had one a cpl ? years ago.Ran across the center of the state....I thought the neighbor snagged sumthin with his big loader.Felt it,thought about it,went back to work.

Last bow season, was with one of the boys W of Richmond on some $$ property he was lucky to get hunting rights to.Met the owner and got to talking......it was,or very close to the epi-center.Their party house on the place practically did a "Dorothy" (wizard of oz).Just interesting, never been around quakes.

most people know the area here for it's hot pots and hot pools.
they are the same as the ones in Yellowstone and are heated from the same magma pool.
all they see when they come through is the mountains and pine trees and the hot tubs full of mineral water, forgetting that those big fields of lava rock, pointy mountains, and piles of cinder are actually from volcanoes.

man.
today must have been go shooting day.
I was down there for almost 5 hours and only had the place to myself for maybe 15 minutes.
had one of my neighbors show up [I have been on a wave and how you doin acquaintance with him for 10 years now and didn't know his name] with some class-3 stuff as I got ready to leave.
I had one of the revolvers with me and was gonna go shoot it a bit before going home so we went over to the base of the airport runway and shot over there instead of shooting on the rifle range.
it's been a looong time since I got to shoot a 3 round burst rifle, and the full auto gun was a hoot.
I didn't even know he shot let alone had class-3 stuff.
I feel a little better about the neighborhoods security now.

ahh it's Friday.
well the dr evil island thing is really dragging out.
I got the mini me rolling his hands over while he laughs so part of the plan is set now.

but I got another plan in the works.
I figure with my luck that Chinese satellite is heading straight for my house any day now.
I planned ahead and got the boy to start hooking up with President Trump on the twitter earlier in the week.
I figure this way I can enlist his help when I prepare to sue the chineses government for ruining my house and all of it's contents.
seeing as how I have a large metal roof and the tallest house on the street I have been going around finding all the magnets I can and sticking them all over the corners of the roof.
hopefully the satellite gets here before the next thunder storm.

Fiver, that pic was from the oldest.Which I "saved".

The problem/s in the past trying to post pics from my phone always didn't work cause the file? was too big.Yeah, yeah get an app to resize..... not. That just ain't in my wheelhouse. So,just posted a pic on the "spell check site" of my reloading bench(as is).At first, just like before...... wouldn't upload.

So,I texted the pic to wifeypoo ..... she texts it back, hit "save".Then it uploaded.Assuming the text process automatically resized it?

my wife has to do something to re-size them to put them up then they are an attachment and not an actual Pic.
I like the bigger pictures you can see more details.

OK,this is "weekend",new phone funny;

I get the phone on a Friday, that night haul arse to #4's house in Frednecksburg Va.He dinks around with the new phone cause I don't give a rip.We shoot 3D on Sat.

Sunday a.m.,he and I haul arse up to Baltimore. #1 son dinks around with new phone....we all shoot another tourney.

Return home.Week goes by and now am in Raliegh NC.#3 son dinks with new phone,I'm still not giving two hoots about it.Him and I go to a pro shop, set up a cpl bows,shoot...woo hoo.But about this time I'm like,"where the frick are my emails"?

It seems that the security on the new phone was lit up like a pinball machine thinking, someone has stolen it and is up to no good?Took #3 and his $$$ computer to untangle the chitstorm?
