Let's see where you do your casting ? ?

Jushua is that a George Foreman Grill? Well that will warm the spur plate at the same time. That's a new one. Everybody I've seen has been constructing hoods for their hot plates for pre-heating , molds.
From one lurker to another, welcome. The group here has a wealth of knowledge to share, great group. A little dry sometimes though.

It's a Panini Sandwich Press. I wasn't finding hot plates at the thrift store, but they had two of these sandwich presses, and they were cheap. It works great, it's like a little oven set at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. I normally pull the mold out of the press, fill and dump twice and then my mold is fully up to heat.

Hello, @Joshua , and welcome from Norway! Nice place you’ve got there, and some fine bullets!
I’m looking forward to hearing more from you. You’re doing the right thing, taking this pandemic seriously. It is really, really serious business.

Interesting setups.
I only noticed one lead pot clamped to the table. And not a single drip tray.

I wish I could show my setup. But like some others here, I have to breakdown my setup completely. Half goes in a storage shed, the rest into the garage, with the molds into the safes w/dehumidifiers.

I use an OVE glove on My right hand and a welding glove on My left. A hotplate to preheat molds. Full face plate, overalls, long sleeves. Old wellington boots. Leather apron when alloying, casting ingots. No burn scars either. Dad was a REAL BEAR about Safety. I started wearing safety glasses & Gloves when I was 4yrs old.

Wish I could cast now. But My back is so bad, my Wife would kill me if I tryed to cast. I'm lucky She lets me go out to the reloading bench for a half hour.

Lots of great setups here.

Hate this blasted tablet.

Just checked in on this thread. Apparently nobody noticed that I have two right hands.

Ian,
I made them, and pretty happy with them too. Those and a 5/64" drill bit, to the right of pots, has eliminated the constant drip. I can twist the head of the meter rod and adjust lift height, for volume, with the screw on the top. I like casting with two pots, and returning sprue to pot.

It would make a great thread if you could show us how you did that modification that stops a Lee Drip-O-Matic from dripping.

Rick, do you do your casting and reloading while standing up? The reloading presses especially look hard to reach from a seated position.

Both loading and casting are done standing yes. Presses are mounted just below eye level. The stand under the pot has long since been removed to ladle cast standing.

I have never posted a picture here before when I first attempted it said my picture was too big, so how can I shrink the picture to reduce the file size?
