Hello people, from New Zealand. I just found one of these moulds, Lyman Item #2660008 on box, Mould is stamped 311008AV, a two cavity Flat Point Plain Base. The Box sticker also has on it "32/20 FN 115gr 311008" so pretty sure the box matches the Mould.
Interestingly, I bought a different mould at online local auction plus a Lyman 30 Cal Lube Cutter. The first mould arrived attached to handles, no Lyman box. The Lube Cutter arrived in a Lyman Mould box. I read the sticker on it, saw what was originally in the box and went back to the vendor asking if he still had the mould the box belonged to. Turned out, after some to and fro, that he did and was keen to sell, with Lyman handles attached. The handles are hard to get here under around $75USD - I paid $55USD for each of the two moulds both with handles so am pretty happy as they both appear in pristine little used condition. Sometimes you are fortunate, sometimes not so much.
I have an Old Savage bolt action in 32-20 and a BSA Martini Action converted from a BSA Cadet 310 with a 303B barrel fitted and chambered for 32-20. A fun couple of rifles. I'm looking forward to casting for them.
I am interested in the letter designation on my mold - the AV bit. I know molds come in many variations and also custom dimensions etc. Can someone tell me what the AV stands for. Thanks in advance. J.
