The only XD I own is the Model 2 Sub-Compact (3" bbl) in 9 mm...........I don't consider it a CC piece. It weighs in at 26 oz, unloaded. Quite a bit more when you top the magazine off with 13 rounds of ammo. More of a range toy/ house gun. They make a slimmer version (XD-S) but it is still too large for daily carry, IMO. The slim version sheds only 3 ounces, has a slightly longer barrel (3.3") and being a single stack, the grip isn't as comfortable as the "Grip Zone" double stack. I like the sights, particularly, the fiber optic front. Shows up well in good light..............don't know how well it does in low light. No matter, cause I mounted a CT Railmaster green laser on it's front rail. Stock DAO trigger works for me, I prefer DA, even in revolvers. I have @ 2K rounds through it, mostly cast, without a single hiccup. More importantly...........my better half likes it too.
