Santa did leave something black.o_O

But not a lump of coal.:)

So, I'll have to assume I was nice.:D

CZ Scorpion 9mm Carbine

Folding stock with two inches of adjustment, 1/2" of sliding grip adjustment for trigger finger placement.

Ambidextrous safety, as well as, magazine release.

Two twenty round magazines with optional thirty rounders, available @ $20 a piece.

Ability to swap charging handle to either side. I have it setup for LH operation.

And yes, you can fire it with the stock folded, as the ejection port is not covered by folding the stock.

Santa came early to Arkansas so I did get a chance to run some of my cast pistol loadings. Installed a Trijicon reflex sight with a 12.9 MOA amber triangle.

Best group so far:

Merry Christmas. New toys are always a good thing. Did it come Christmas wrapped with a bow?

That looks like it could be a whole lot of fun. I hope you have lots of 9mm loaded, I bet 200 rounds doesn't last very long.

Kind of impressed that it shot that nice of a group right off.

Have about 6K rounds of reloads. Was easier to move, stored in little brass containers, than all the components.
Problem is that most of them are not giving me that good of groups. More like 6 MOA. This load happened to be what was left of a single pound of AA#7, I purchased to try. However, I have a 8# jug, coming tomorrow. :)

Will be interested to see how much the velocity varies between the carbine and a handgun. I would think AA7 would possibly get another 200 fps or so in the carbine, faster powder not as much?

I think this slower powder is the reason for the better groups. My other go to powders are Bullseye and Unique......we're in a deep freeze so not much testing will be done for a while.

Deep freeze? Head a bit farther north. We will be lucky to hit 20 this week from the forecast. Most nights at or below zero.
I won't shoot much for a few months most likely.

That looks fun to me!

Be careful though, some folks say the bullets will bounce off glass from such a tiny micro caliber.:)

I have handled the Skorpion, seemed nice. The idea of a pistol caliber semiauto carbine
for home defense seems about optimal for the typical person who isn't a serious shooter.
Way less noise and muzzle blast than a pistol length bbl, higher velocity, no real recoil, easy to index left
and right, lots of shots. Fun shooting guns, too.

Pump shotguns are often recommended, much more noise, blast, and have to remember
to pump, much larger and heavier. Plus, the pattern at indoor ranges isn't significantly
larger than a single bullet. Pistols require some skill and many folks aren't
really interested getting trained up.

More fun than a barrel of monkeys.:D

Haven't had time to set up the Lab-Radar. But from inspection of the brass from my pistol loads. I'm going to have to back off, from my normal load of 5.0 grains of Unique and 125 RNGC. Primers are pretty flattened.

I have put @ 400 cast bullets through it, after @ 200 factory FMJ's. Since switching over to cast, I have only dry brushed the barrel, followed by a couple of tight fitting patches. No lead specks were apparent. What I did feel was the patched jag, dragging, about mid barrel.

Since Rick was coming over for X-mass dinner, I had him bring his bore scope. However, we couldn't find any rough spots.

There was some minimal leading, in the first few inches. I attribute that to under size bullets (.356) in ammo, I loaded years ago for my HP. Since then, I've been sizing to .358 for my nines.

9m carbines are fun. The CV looks interesting but I don't need another one. Good that it likes cast bullets, enjoy.

these little carbines will chew through some ammo in a hurry.
they are real fun to shoot and having good accuracy is for sure part of the appeal.

you know I almost fainted from seeing the picture, then I remembered I was in Idaho and not in Cali. and that it would be okay.
you could even Deer hunt with that here if you wanted to.

The EVO gets really good reviews and I happen to like the look and function a lot, lucky you, John! Now all you need is a little muffler on the front and about 6" less barrel and you'd really have a fun toy.

My SIG rep brought one of these https://www.sigsauer.com/store/sig-mpx-k-psb.html by the shop a while back, got to fondle it but not shoot it (he didn't have his suppressor with him at the time). It's a pistol.....but it's really not a pistol.

The Scorpion comes as a pistol, also.....but not really, IMO.

The son, of the owner of our LGS, has one. He added the arm brace as well as a can. It was upon his recommendation that swayed me in favor of the EVO. I went there to order the Beretta Storm carbine. Cheaper by @ $240 and more ambidextrous. Didn't really care for it's futuristic looks and heard they require more frequent cleaning for reliability....every 200 rounds.

No suppressors for me, till they eliminate the tax stamps.
