Wish I knew more about 1911's. The only example I have is a SS Springfield Armory "Fully Loaded?" I think that's what they call it. Seems to have all the bells and whistles. That little oval hammer, (Commander style?), beaver tail grip safety, flat main spring, adjustable sights with some three dot inserts, an extended slide release. Feeds everything I've tried through it. Don't know its history but I'll wager I am at least the third owner. The younger man I got it from shot some pistol games like falling plates and stuff like that. He said it was always reliable and his word is gold with me. I kinda feel like every shooter should have a 1911 around, just because.
