Powder Containers

Do you think it is safe to store powder and an old red Folgers plastic coffee can?

I'd be concerned that the lid might not stay on if I dropped it and I know chicken feed goes stale in one after a while. Maybe not exactly safety issues (except a spill), but those would be my main concerns. The other is how much space is wasted with round containers. I go for the square or rectangle for anything I need to store in any significant amount or where real estate is at a premium. If your shop is like most others', horizontal spaces tend to accumulate shhh....tuff and space is at a premium.

Well, Walter, whatever you do, don't add an "O" to "Herc".

Walter,
Perhaps my intention is not being understood, but Herco is a Hercules/Alliant powder.

I’m trying to figure out why Red Dot alone wasn’t adequate. How many manufacturers of it are there?

Makes sense. I hate to ask but what happened to original containers? Storing coffee in them?:embarrassed:

At least you won't be mixing up Herco and Red Dot. Well, not till you buy some Herco, anyway.

My brother and I bought 600 pounds of shot and an old 8 pound keg of RD. We had to split it up. It was what I had on hand to store it in....
