Ben,
Very nice pistol, lots of great features. Love those sights!
I have also had excellent results with CCI Blazer .22 LR in all my .22s. The only "ordinary"
.22 ammo that I have found to be consistently better is the OLD Winchester Power Point. But, unfortunately,
they moved the factory about 4 or 5 (or more) years ago and the current PP ammo is no great
shakes, IME, pretty ordinary ammo. I still have a few bricks of the old PP, and use it for testing
guns to see what they will do with "known good" ammo.
Of course, .22s can be very picky about what they will shoot well, although some .22s seem
to do well with anything you give them.
I have a MKIV, but I have owned Ruger std autos since 1968, and figured out how to take them
apart and put them back together properly when I was 16. I have taught many people the
VERY EASY trick to doing this, really can't see why it is such a big deal. to some.
I got the MKIV because it was a great deal, not because it hinges open. I think I have about
8 Ruger .22 autos currently.
