S&W 44 Special

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
I've yet to run into one of those female types, regardless of hair color, that can't be a handful and a half under most conditions. In fact, finding an easy going, low maintenance type is pretty freakin' rare IME!

Marie and I are both 4-year-olds--I am the large, cranky one, she is the smaller faster inquisitive one that never holds still. Our kids tell us that we are great fun to watch.

All females are a handful and a half. I have a NIGHTMARE coming up with one this Saturday morning that I wouldn't even wish on My dead BIL or the other one either.

One of the common observations women make is, "Men are so immature!". Yeah, says the woman who expects her man to be able to literally read her mind and fathom why she's po'd because he bought her a nice gift, but it came from the wrong store!!! And 30 years later she's still po'd about it! I didn't know Layne Bryant was a "fat womans store", all I know is the bomber jacket I bought her there fit like a glove. Not my fault she's 5'10" with a prow that would do an icebreaker proud!

I don't cast HP bullets, but IIRC--maybe from the Sierra reloading manual--the rationale for the Matchking bullet's HP and significant empty space in the bullet nose was to move the bullet's balance point more toward the rear to enhance long-range stability.

I haven't found HP's any less accurate than the same bullet/same alloy in a solid version. Sometimes, they are even slightly more accurate. I have targets that support this.

I have my own range with a sand (river/beach) backstop. I recover/recycle most of my lead. When I sift it out, I can definitely pick out the HP bullets.

Given the same media, I would expect expansion results to behave the same way, regardless of media. This I suspect would be a boon to the special calibers, versus the magnum counterparts. That being said, I have yet to test this theory out on deer size game. Mostly because I harvest the majority of my deer with archery tackle. By the time gun season comes around, I'm hunting trophy size racks..................since my freezers are filled.

Women ......... Heed my advice . Don't take any from me , even when I think I've got a little bit of it figured out I find my hand in a bear trap . Buy some flowers at vaguely festive times . Never answer any " does this make me " question with any thing that doesn't get a response of "your still blind the glasses didn't help" .
I've found in such a safe response if you happen to be cornered is " I bought the book for the story not the cover" ....... If the upmost honesty is forced you can sometimes save yourself with " I can take a soft cover anywhere but those hardbounds end up in leather . Let's go to town for dinner ?" .

44 special to me is one of those cartridges that just works. I view it as a small 45 Colt. High velocities aren’t needed as it offers enough diameter and weight to do pretty much anything a handgun needs to do.

Mine is fed a 265 gr swc by NOE over 4.5 gr of Titegroup. It runs in the 750 fps and shoots very well. I don’t see a need for more speed.
